EVENING ZERO-G, a celebration of the summer solstice, was created from only these resonant frequencies. Returned to the space in three dimensional surrounding sound, these frequencies hover, move and initiate a dialogue with the architecture.

Space is a weightless field of motion, of gestural activity - a field of play. The static, localized presentation of traditional music becomes incidental. Spatial motion becomes the gestural habitat of sound.

Gesture and reverse-engineered spectral mapping free sound in the field of 37 speakers and 8.1 audio channels to celebrate the unique resonant capacities of the tower.

With muffling blanket over the mixer and DAT recorder, I listened through headphones to the silence of Yaddo's Stone Tower. The ultra-sensitive mic revealed the wind through the pines and the swirling of the rain-gorged lakes as the sounds seeped in through the tower windows.

Those sounds were harmonically reinforced by the acoustics of the tower. Like a giant instrument, the tower was 'playing' the sounds of wind and water by imprinting its own unique resonant signature.
