The earth is one point in the paths of the radiance of the sun. This radiance has taken about 10,000 years to emerge from the core of the sun to open space. RADIANT POINT ONE maps the additional eight light-minutes the sunlight travels to cross 93 million miles to the earth.

I digitally recorded the silence (room tone) of the Tang Museum's Bernhard Atrium, then analyzed and shaped the primary frequencies into the installation sound. These sounds, derived from the site's 'silence,' are reverse-engineered to perfectly fit the acoustics of the space.

These resonant frequencies are expanded into twenty-four minutes divided into three sections. Each section begins eight minutes before the hour and ends on the hour. Asynchronous histories of interleaved light and sound continually emerge. The installation radiates its final sounds on the hour as light released by the sun at the beginning of the eight minute audio segment arrives to the earth.
