Absolute Elsewhere, a term in the physics
of Special Relativity, is
all of the points outside the past and future light cones of an event.
Events in Absolute Elsewhere are outside the time-space boundaries of
the causual future and past. Absolute Elsewhere is all that lies
outside, all that constitutes the other, the negative space-time of
everything beyond an event.
As a metaphor and paradox, Absolute Elsewhere might be said to define
our lives – by that which is not: the tasks not accomplished, the
things left unsaid, the boundaries that we stake in personal
relationships and privacy, the roads not taken. Far from negative,
Absolute Elsewhere reveals the focus of intent we bring to that which
we desire.
