ALONG THE WATCH — A SONG OF GUARDIANS

Along the Watch is a developing installation project commemorating the 50th anniversary of the United Nations Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO). The project is conceived towards usage of seismic, oceanic and atmospheric sound recordings by worldwide CTBTO monitoring stations. Symphonic in scale, the installation is intended for public display to acknowledge and celebrate the success and ongoing goodwill and vigilance of the 185 partner nations as embodied in the CTBTO
CTBTO is a major proponent for world peace with global monitoring engaged toward detecting surreptitious nuclear arms testing. Over 300 CTBTO stations effectively detect nuclear blast activity by monitoring seismic and oceanic sound, atmospheric infrasound (frequencies below human hearing limitations) and atmospheric aerosol particles. CTBTO has registered 8 illegal blasts by 3 countries since the beginning of operations. Clandestine testing, when exposed, may lead to global condemnation and political pressure on offending nations.
Hughes Networks provides CBTBO turnkey services covering design, installation, management, operation and maintenance of a complex global network of satellite terminals. These insure the swift and secure transport of data between the CTBTO global monitoring stations and the International Data Centre in Vienna and the treaty's 150 signatory countries.
IPX is a major solution and services provider for Hughes Networks. IPX has installed over 240 CTBTO monitoring sites since 2015 and has provided support and 24x7x365 turnkey services covering the installations. IPXCOM Network Operations Center supports personnel for 150 Hughes/CTBTO remote sites with over 100 IPXCOM VSAT and system engineers covering the project globally across five continents
